This walk starts, by car, from the Mas de roux in the direction of the vilage of Quissac then it is necessary to take the direction Sauve/Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort . The best thing is to park near the Tourist Office which remains the easiest starting point to find.

For this nice walk, count about 1h30 and some 5kms.

Equip yourself with good sneakers or hiking shoes and in summer do not hesitate to protect your head (cap, hat) but also to take sunscreen; some passages are not shaded.

Sauve, recently classified "Village of Character", is a very pretty medieval village, so you will start by discovering it by taking a few typical narrow streets.

The markings are yellow, so you will easily find yourself and then take a path lined with dry stone walls, ruins and old dwellings.

At the end of your nice walk, we advise you to visit the Conservatoire de la Fourche and discover a local specialty.

The course is not complicated or too hard but you will often walk on sometimes unstable stones but you will necessarily be fascinated by the nature that is offered to you between vegetations and these Rocks at times improbable shapes.

The scenery is sumptuous, almost lunar, and many giants stand in front of you, time has shaped them to give us a magnificent spectacle.

Returning to your place of parking, you can go to the "Conservatory of the Forks", unique place allowing the discovery of the artisanal manufacture, and according to an ancestral method, of forks made of wood of hackberry trees. The micocouliers is a tree that loves the rocky and limestone soil found in Sauvaine soil.

You can schedule your visit by following ➡️ Conservatory of the Forks

To finish your visit of this pretty village, we advise you to crisscross its typical alleys, and discover many galleries of artists or even very good restaurants to spend a good time in one of the most beautiful villages of the Gard.
